Our plane landed in Pudong International Airport at 6+ in the morning. And I thought it was supposed to be a super nice airport. Compared to Baiyun Airport (Canton Airport) Pudong was kind of lousy- You can’t compare any of them to Changi Airport, they have zero facilities, and after upgrading, Changi Airport will have glass all over just like Baiyun.

As usual with Chinese customs, the processes are freaking slow, the queues are freaking long. After clearing the customs, we collected our luggage and walked into the arrival hall where we immediately saw the our driver- my Dad’s friends’. He immediately offered to get my luggage and lead us to the car- a Buick. I must say, Buicks are so much better than Korean Cars. Can’t wait for them to be in Singapore to trash the market.

He brought us to the hotel that my Dad booked, 24k Int. Hotel. WTF. Some kind of hotel he booked. Joker la. The windows were facing all the odd directions. And the corridors are so long and winding here and there- bad fengshui.

After we settled our stuff, we went out to have some food. At around 12, the driver came to pick us up and brought us to Shanghai’s Xing Ren Jie- pedestrian street. Such a big city and they only have one of these. Canton has 2!

He dropped us outside Raffles City- opened by CapitaLand, Shanghai is full of Singapore investments. Everywhere you go, you will be able to see the Singapore brand- Breadtalk (Mian Bao Xin Yu), Bee Cheng Hiang (Canton also have), CapitaLand, Metro City (Mei Luo Cheng), OSIM. Anyway, the first thing we bought are shoes. Don’t want to dirty my expensive shoes. Shanghai and Zhe Jiang people are damn dirty.

We walked all around stupid places. Clothes, clothes and clothes. BORING. And I don’t even get to buy one. Guy clothes in Shanghai shopping centers are so old. No teenagers clothes. The only ones I can find are so bloody ex.

For dinner we went to Grape Restaurant. No.55 XinLe Rd. Shanghai. Telephone: 54040486. The food was quite nice. Many caucasians dine there too. Although they have many caucasian diners, the waitresses still can’t speak basic English, once, we had to help them translate the word Carrot. This restaurant is also quite weird. They keep changing plates. Even though your plates are quite clean. They just come by every so often and change your plates. After dinner, we had to walk to the Metro Line- their underground train- because Mother has sent the driver home. So we had to walk a freaking long distance. The worst part was, the area the entrance to the Metro Line was, is full of shops. Damn it. I HATE SHOPPING!

After a century of shopping, we finally went on the Metro Line. We had to alight at People’s Square. Thats the place Raffles City is at. More shopping. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG!?!?!?! From there, we took a cab back to the hotel. 10 RMB for the cab. The basic fare. If only we had taken the cab from Grape Restaurant straight back to the hotel…
