1 week with Singnet

Posted in The Prophet on July 30th, 2006 by Moleznev

I have only one word to say about it. SUCKS. It has extremely poor customer service - similar to Pacific Internet, poor connection, and slow reply service. I wonder why are idiots complaining that Starhub sucks and Singnet is better.

Firstly, I submitted my form on last Monday (17 July 2006), the service took 5 working days to activate excluding the date of submission. Meaning, I get it only on the next Monday (24 July 2006). Starhub is almost immediate! Besides, the Starhub charges only $50 subscription charges once. Singnet has lots of charges. Including change of location. Besides that, when you signed for a plan, it doesn’t get upgraded if there are new speeds, unlike Starhub. And when the contract is over, they will charge you a ridiculous amount of money unless you sign the contract again!

Then, when it got activated, I have to wait until the next day for them to fix the line proper because it was so laggy. And the person who answered my call on the technical support line sounded so sianned. What kind of lousy service is this?

Also, I did not get the wireless ADSL modem given by Singnet as it requires an additional 6 months of subscription and its a lousy brand. I got mine from SLS - a Linksys - at only $134. 6 months is not cheap ok? $168 per month for 512kbps. After I got the modem, Singnet refuses to support the technical part by telling me how to set the PPPoE stuff. At least Pacnet does. All Singnet did was programmed some computer to tell me some nonsense stuff.

Its still not over yet! It took them more than a week to call me and tell me my domain name has been activated. Of course has been activated la. I activated it myself. I just want the stupid DNS address from you! Dumb asses. And up to today, I have yet to receive my username and password to access the DNS! How slow can you get? My domain name has already been activated for 2 weeks! Wasting my money! Damn clowns.

Flying the Singapore Flag

Posted in The Prophet on July 27th, 2006 by Moleznev

Yesterday night, I finally put up the national flag for 9th August celebrations. Some people might be asking why am I flying the flag, when I hate the government so much? This is why… The state and the government are not one. We must differentiate between the government and the nation.

Most Singaporeans do not realize this. And they associate the government and the country. Because of this, when they are angry with the government, they refuse to put up the national flag. How could this happen to Singapore?

Firstly, it is the fault of the government. They have been implementing lots of nonsense policies because no one could stop them. PAP forms the government. The other ministers in the government are just for show. They make up the minority and could be trashed if voting was to be held in parliament. Every election, PAP will respond to some FAQs stating how the constituition forbids some stuff if there is a change of party leadership. These stuff causes stir and makes people think twice about voting for the opposition. Never mind about this though. Soon, the younger generation would take over and revolutionize Singapore.

The first point leads to my second point. Because the PAP makes the decisions in government (the brain of the country), which causes much unhappiness in Singapore, Singaporeans show their displeasure against them by refusing to fly the national flag and sing the national anthem. So the one party government has caused the state to lose its trust from the people. And LHL is telling us one party system is good? What bullshit?!?! Now we have greater trouble trying to let people realize that displeasure against the government shouldn’t be put to displeasure for the state.

P.S. Singing the national anthem is a mark of respect for the country. However, even the cabinet has no respect for it. If you could get the video of the inaugration of Lee Hsien Long as Prime Minister, you would realize that almost nobody is singing the anthem. Even Nathan is not singing. What nonsense is this?

Unjustified Increases

Posted in The Prophet on July 23rd, 2006 by Moleznev

The usual aftermath of elections: everything increase. Taxes, public transport fares, housing, cars, et cetera. Today, I am concerned about the hottest topic on the streets. Taxi fare increase.

Many Singaporeans including the Taxi drivers themselves, felt that the raise was unreasonable. Although its only a $0.10 hike of the starting fare, it is the increase in time-distance (and acceleration) increment that kills. Many are trying to avoid getting on a cab if they could.

So who is to be blamed for the hike? The transport companies? The government? I would say, both. And I am going to justify my claim on why they are the main contributors to the hike.

Firstly, the transport companies justify their refusal to decrease cab rentals because of their cost. The costs include, $5,100 in diesel tax and $1,200 in road tax annually. What the hell is the diesel tax for? Didn’t the Singapore Police Force said that diesel is a cleaner, greener alternative to petrol? It offers higher mileage too. Since thats what they say, then why is the government charging a ridiculous tax for being green? The government is just trying to get money from every single possible way.

The cab companies have tried to justify their claim by blaming the taxes, but i still cannot agree with them. Every year, cab companies, especially ComfortDelgro, make tons of money. This government linked company is the second largest transport operator in the world. If smaller companies like Smart can provide cabs-with lots of frills, compared to Comfort cabs- for $75 a day, why can’t they do it? I can think of reasons why Comfort is coming up with a fare hike. Firstly they don’t have to decrease their rental fees. Secondly, cab drivers pay a commission on the amount earned. Therefore, increase in the fares, also increases the income of Comfort. Drivers also use less subsidized fuel for the same amount of fare. What a perfect plan. Killing so many birds with a stone.

Lastly, some cab drivers are also at fault. It is a fault linked to the cab companies. In Singapore, fare increment is based on time-distance (and acceleration, although cab companies did not say), this has led to some cabbies who purposely accelerate even though there is no need to, so as to push the fare up. The cost to accelrate quicker is lesser than the sale. So they are making a profit by doing that. So next time when you see a cabby accelerating even though the traffic light ahead is red, you know what he is doing.

At the website above, you will see the salaries for the Cabinet of Republic of Singapore, compared to their counterparts in United States of America. I don’t see why there is a need for Singapore ministers to draw a higher pay than their US counterparts. US is such a huge country, compared to tiny Singapore. Why do you need to draw a higher pay for governing lesser stuff? PAY THEM BACK TO SINGAPOREANS! STOP INCREASING ALL SORTS OF TAX & LEVY!

CNA Report

What nonsense is LKY saying?

“Today, I think I will tell my grandson I think you better go to America. It will be the largest single factor in the Pacific for a very long time.”

Singapore education system not good enough for his grandson? Not Globalized? So why are they implementing such a system and then making thousands of Singaporean study there? Go to America? You bloody quitter! LKY and buddy cabinet wants to make all Singaporeans stupid by sending them to lousy schools. That is why they implemented the law to prevent the males from going overseas for their college education before NS. Because that is the best time for them to learn to turn against LKY! Why are ITE students allowed to continue studying in Polytechnics straight after they graduate from ITE? Thats 2 years + 3 years= 5 years! Studying in American colleges takes less than that. And then, there are external program like ours! You don’t even have to leave the shores to be in American universities. Yet they don’t allow! Because what is taught in American schools are not controlled by the Singapore government! They can teach students to be smarter in American schools. But students are restricted to excel in polytechnics!

Bastardy Scholars

There isn’t much movement from that wimpy worm this week. I doubt he has read our message on The Falling Worm. Everyone has been waiting for his reply since the last one on his stand on some shit stuff.

Anyway, today I am not going to talk about some idiots who is crazy over army. There are more important issues. Few days ago, I heard on the radio, some guy from China who was on Singapore Ministry of Education scholarship to study in our local university. Now he is in the States furthering his studies from what I think is also the money from our government. How is this person related to our country? He has not contributed to our country at all. Not served NS. Not paid any tax. And bloody hell, the government gave him the scholarship. There are hundred of people in Singapore who need that scholarship. Why did they give some outsider? My sis applied for several scholarships from several government and government linked organizations. Despite those attempts, she did not get the scholarship from any of them. Just because she did not take the “S” paper. Four As and they just refuse to give the scholarship because there is no Stupid paper. And they are willing to give to some people whom I doubt has taken O levels.

God damn it Chinese guy who is now in US and I doubt he will come back to this small island nation which we call home has got the scholarship from our money. These people are not staying here to serve the country! They are just using Singapore as a stopover to get into countries like the States and European nations, because it is difficult for them to migrate to those places with passport from their own nation. Why don’t you dumb idiots understand?
