Creative

I finally changed my earphones on Friday although the Philips one I had was still in good working, or rather perfect condition. But it was simply hopeless. Wasted $49 on it. This time, I invested in Creative. Proved itself to be one of the top audio equipment makers to date. I was at the Creative showroom at Creative Resource because 4 idiots wanted to buy some Creative shit and dragged me along. Don’t know who was the one - Yi Lin or Miss See- wanted to buy some speakers. In the end, they didn’t buy anything but insisted that I buy a pair of speakers for them each, which I promptly said no- I was too poor. Hahaha. I have to save my money for other stuff you know. So their friend, someone whom I don’t know, who is from Dunearn I guess, bought an MP3 without Miss See buying the Travelsound- with the MP3, its at a 50% discount.

I got myself the new Creative noise isolation ear phones at $64. Hahaha. I used my Creative Card to discount for that girl ($3) and then she paid hers and credited some Creative dollars ($5). I also tried out other stuff there. The Zen Aurvana earphones are really worthy of its price tag of $235. Superb noise isolation and sound quality. I suggest Yuppies who travel alot to buy them. You can’t bring your sound system around can you? For your desktop, if you are rich enough, its best you invest in the Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty. It is unbelievably good. Especially with the 7.1 Gigaworks system. The bass from the speakers is heavenly! It’s not like what you get from ordinary speakers and sound card. The sound is also crystal clear. You have to hear it to believe it. While the girls were discussing whether to buy those dumb, cheapo and lousy speakers, we went into this room where Creative set up a proper- real proper- home theather system. I think it has more than 10 speakers, probably enough for a home Omnimax experience. It was playing Wong Jim’s and then Beyond’s concert at that time. I want to try it out again one of these days.

Death in peacetime

Posted in The Prophet on July 11th, 2006 by Moleznev

Singapore’s Army is made up of regularly trained civilian soldiers. These soldiers are given a low compensation (pay) and has to work very hard. To have a civilian army, the government and the army (Defense Ministry included) must gain the trust and loyalty of its people, especially the soldiers. How can we be loyal to the army and the country when preferential treatment is given to some others serving National Service with us. And the people who are given preferential treatment are those ranging from as high class as the richest in Singapore, and also some of the lowest class people in Singapore, some servants - civil servants (referring to those ministers who draw pay from the taxpayers like us - sorry if i offended the others), no matter what, they are still servants. I do not see why there is a need for the treatment.

And then we look at why we should trust the army. I mean, we used to. Every parent laid the lives of their sons, the child they paid much care and money (which we had little of, as Singaporeans are taxed everywhere) to nurture to at least 17.5 years old. The efforts! Imagine the grief they have when their children dies during IN CAMP TRAINING! NOT BLOODY HELL IN A WAR!! Do you think we can trust them? I wouldn’t. In fact, if it happens to my child, I would pack up and leave this country. If I have citizenship in another country, I might even sue the army (I do not trust the judicial system here to sue to them in Singapore).

Celebrating 65 days of my 18th Birthday

Posted in The Prophet on July 11th, 2006 by Moleznev

Actually, there was nothing to celebrate. But today, I ate my birthday gift. The huge choco poky. Not that I wanted to, but its attracting ants. So, there goes one of my only 2 gifts. Sad day. One minute of silence for the choco poky please.

Alright, thats it. I reached school kind of early today, well, earlier than usual. Considering the amount of time I have, I went to the library to get some info for our team research. Borrowed 3 books, one for each of us, and printed something from EBSCOhost that we threw away. We didn’t utilise any bits of those papers, except for that last piece which I used to tell Elton the smell that was coming from in front of me.

Besides all the nonsense, we also played a bit of foosball- as usual. At first, Ben played with me, and we were undefeatable, until I became tired and decided to go to class first. After that, when we played after school, Ben just didn’t do anything except getting trashed. Oops.

Today we also garnered more support for our anti-LCB Chuan campaign. KNS. The tags he and his imaginary friends wrote yesterday were crap. Its time for revenge.
