Three Cheers to Dr Stephen Ladyman

THE road safety minister has defended the high-octane stunts performed on the BBC’s Top Gear programme and described the presenter Richard Hammond as an “adventurer” after he was seriously injured in a 300mph crash.

Some critics of the show have accused it of glamorising speed, encouraging “yobbish” driving and promoting gas-guzzling vehicles.

However, Stephen Ladyman said he was “distressed” that some people were using Hammond’s crash in a jet-powered car as “an excuse to knock the programme”.

Wilman also threatened to quit if the corporation attempts to ‘tone down’ the programme’s irreverent attitude and relish for speed. Presenter Jeremy Clarkson said he, too, would defy critics who ‘don’t like Top Gear and would love to see it off the screens’

Whoever who thinks Top Gear is bad, you may walk for all you like. Go back to the stone age, carry stuff around, build stuff, and do your stupid researches on foot. Do not use any machinery if that is what you say. To the BBC and its news department, shame on you for not defending your own show. Go walk with those bastards as well! Do your news reports on foot.
