People's Mother Lee announced in parliament that the GST - Goods and Services Tax, was to be raised from the current 5% (which was raised not long ago) to 7%.

So what does this increase mean to you?

If you are a corporation…
Well, I'm talking about large corporations. If the government really does what it says about reducing corporate tax to match competition, you will pay lower tax. Some huge savings there. However, do not forget that you have to pay your workers more as increase in GST means an inflation. It doesn't mean you do not gain much even after the salary hike. GST can be claimed. So, now you have more to claim.

If you belong to the poorest class…
If you trust the government, they say they are going to give out additional welfare to help the people. You get a one time welfare and then pay more for everything you buy while those people up there collect huge salaries, bonuses, pensions and CPF.

If you belong to the middle class…
You gain nothing. May be a little bit in the beginning as they will throw out some gifts to cool the fiery fire. So what do you lose? You have to pay more for everything. You are not under any welfare. You can't claim GST. Lost out in every way.

So as Her Majesty said, we need to lower our taxes to match that of competition, Hong Kong. Hong Kong's Corporate tax is at a ultimate low rate of 17.5% compared to Singapore's 20%. To lower this tax, we would have to increase in-direct tax, which is GST. Her Majesty also mentioned that Hong Kong is planning to implement GST. Heard that? Planning to. Means have not implemented. How is Hong Kong able to go on 17.5% without GST and this little island not able to? And before they lowered the tax, they are already planning to increase GST. Who you trying to kid? Crap excuses.

Those stupid people who voted for them. Told you guys it is the wrong people you are counting on. Immediately after election, always everything increase. MRT fares increase, Bus fares increase, Taxi fares increase, Rentals increase, COE increase, now GST increase. What's more, we get housing next to foreign workers. What crap is this. Wake up people.

The Fast Food Hunt 4

A subsidiary of KFC Singapore… A trademark of Pizzas… And does the number 6-235-35-35 ring in your head? The next contestant up is… Pizza Hut! Exactly why its called a Hut instead of a Mansion is unknown…

Pizza Hut

Date visited: 10 November 2006
Time visited: 1:40PM Approx.
Outlet: Bukit Timah Plaza
Queue: None
Food ordered: Group Meal, 10 Spicy Drumlets
Price: $35.70 (After discount and taxes)

Time for food to arrive: Long (5/10)
Not only did the food take long to arrive, the second pizza, which is supposed to be Stuff Crust Lava Cheese, didn't come with the Crust and Cheese. Luckily Ryan realized that and we called for them to change the pizza.

Food quality: Average (5/10)
The drumlets were… Off… The pizzas weren't that delicious… The stuff crust cheese was tasteless…. The Cream of Chicken…takes time to find the chicken…

Satiety: (7/10)
I could have taken 10 more drumlets into my stomach then. So little. And they also tried to cheat our money by giving us the regular pan pizzas instead of the Cheese Lava Stuff Crust or whatever shit name it has got. Mr Hut, simplicity is the key to a good menu, you know.

Value: (5/10)
Expensive. $9 dollars with crappy food and I am still hungry. And they could have added more toppings you know. Drumlets tastes bad. Cheese not enough. And cheese powder seriously not enough! No other restaurant has this problem of spice lacking.

Packaging: (8/10)
Nothing much to package anyway. Its dine-in. So its restaurant style. Plates, bowls and utensils are all non-disposable type.

Ambience: (6/10)
Warm lights = Passed. Comfy seats = Just passed. A bit old though. Need some renovations, just like their main chain, KFC. Music = Failed. No music. The place is so quiet.

Overall: (6.0/10)
It's no wonder they are called Pizza Hut and not Pizza Palace. No ambience. No quality food. No quality customer service. And the price sucks. Totally off the mark. Not to forget mentioning the toilets. Coffee shop standards? May be worse. Better have your dine out at some other fast food outlets.

A little more about myself

Posted in The Prophet on November 7th, 2006 by Moleznev

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties. - Quite true…

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true. - I think so…

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.  - Yea..That's right…

The seriousness of your love:

You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with? - WRONG! Sadly…They are all untrue…

Your views on education

Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can. - Quite true… But I don't really like books you know…

The right job for you:

You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success.  - We will have to wait and see… But of course I have lots of dream jobs…

How do you view success:

You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying. - Who is not?

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel. - I think so…

Who is your true self:

You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve. - LOL… Good advice? You have to ask the people who got them…

Got this from CKY's blog… http://www.quizbox.com/personality/test82.aspx

Here's another one I tried using clothes!

The Clothes You Wear

What others see from your style

Although to the untrained eye you may seem like a plain dresser who avoids trends, you actually wear carefully designed accessories and clothes that emphasize your uniqueness. You value your freedom and have an artistic mind. You are neither aggressive nor timid, but you believe in yourself. - Not bad ah… Quite accurate for parts…

What your nightclothes reveal

You are friendly and always in good mood. You are candid and helpful, and can be sexy at times too. - LOL.. What the heck!

What others see from your ties

You enjoy being alone. You like to life the simple but good life, and you cherish your freedom. You are thoughtful, confident and uninterested in glamour. - Haha… Not very true.. Probably because they weren't enough ties for me to choose..

What others see from your belts

You are a lonely and demanding person. You are hardworking as well as intelligent, and can be passionate when in love. - Same as above.. Demanding? LOL… Probably true..

What others see from your shoes

You are adventurous. You have high self-esteem and are able to keep your promises. You like to take chances and are always looking for new opportunities to make your life more exciting. - Adventurous? Don't make me jump off a bridge will be fine..

What others see from your earrings

You are probably an independent and strong-willed person. Fairness is important to you, and you always stand up for what you believe in. You are friendly and get along well with people. - Of course must stand up for what I believe in lah… I'm a taurus you know…

The last analysis

You are probably a romantic and passionate person. You are sensitive and lonely when you aren't in love. You can be somewhat self-centered, but you are honest and sincere to others. You like to make a good impression of yourself and worry about what others think of you. - Think what… Of course must make good impression!

The Fast Food Hunt 3

The long awaited third review… King of Burgers

Burger King

Date visited: 2 November 2006
Time visited: 6:00PM
Outlet: Jurong East IMM
Queue: None
Food ordered: Wopper Jr Meal UPSIZE
Price:$6.10

Time for food to arrive: Approx. 2 minutes (8/10)
The food came quite fast. Able to match the standards of McDonald's. Probably because there wasn't any queue. The last time I went there, it took almost 20 minutes including waiting for Ben to get his food first.

Food quality: Average (5/10)
The burger is just average. The beef patty didn't taste real good. The fried were quite horrible. Totally bland. And the chilli sucks. I need good food!

Satiety: (7/10)
Even after finishing the drink, I can still take in a chicken cutlet. It was probably due to the disgusting fries and the kind of small burger.

Value: (6/10)
Not that bad value. But they should provide better quality food to match the price. They should also be more generous with giving out of the sauces. I heard they are charging 10cents for mayonaise. Even the Megabites in school doesn't charge anything.

Packaging: (9/10)
Not bad packaging. However, there is some catching up to do compared to MOS Burger.

Ambience: (6/10)
Didn't really look at the cleanliness. It looks quite tidy at a glimpse. However, the lightings totally spoils the mood. Restaurants, no matter what kind of restaurants should be aware that lighting is a key factor to ambience. Warm light is the best choice.

Overall: (6.8/10)
Another long established chain losing to newly expanding new comer. The main thing for Burger King to look at will be their degrading food quality and ambience of the place. I find that the ambience differs from outlet to outlet. If I did not remember wrongly, the outlet at westmall has better ambience than this. Time to revise the menu and see what is added into the fries as well.
