Mole’s Theory

Posted in The Prophet on April 30th, 2007 by Moleznev

Alright. I've heard enough of theories from all the arts classes - Communications, Psychology, Sociology - basically, the boring subjects. Now, I shall become a philosopher myself and come up with a theory! Here it goes:

Actions are lead by intentions

Okay. I admit it's kind of lame. But it's definitely true! *Does some statistical and lab analysis* There's no such thing as no reason, even if you cannot think of one. Example, why would you help someone? Intentions! Either good or bad, kind or ill, they are there. You watch those dramas where they tell you there is no reason for love? Nonsense. The most basic reason is to follow your heart's intentions. So the fundamental principle is to find out why a person did whatever he did. Don't cast suspicions to the people around you though.

Cheap Platinum

Posted in The Prophet on April 29th, 2007 by Moleznev

About a decade or more ago, holding a Gold card is just about as prestigious as having gold. And then it went on to be the Platinum card some years ago. Then came the black card. Today, Gold is no longer mentioned. It's sort of linked to some uneducated hooligans. Platinum has become the norm. Everywhere you go, banks and retailers are offering platinum cards. Its all over the streets. No longer a prestige. If only the metal is as common. We could then, save this world from the damage done.

However, this platinum is just going to destroy the world of lower middle class. I'm pretty sure, that to qualify for a platinum card, the salary limit is quite low because the POSB Everyday card is so common. I just got it yesterday after my Dad sent in the application last week. They are so efficient at getting these stuff done. Within a few days the card is ready and in my hands, just waiting for me to spend, spend and spend. And when I opened the letter and saw the card in it, the words platinum was on it. There's also the SMRT-Citibank Platinum Card, which I think is absolutely rubbish. Its such a silly marketing move. Another silly move is the DBS Black Card - totally ruining the name of the black.

Marketing aside, credit cards are really addictive. Especially when you don't pay for them. Some times when I'm hanging out, and I'm short of cash, I just get the card to pay. This is how card kills. For those who are able to pay up on time, it stimulates the economy as people have more buying power. For those who are not able to pay, they crumble under the huge debts.

Flaws of the American Education System

Posted in The Prophet on April 28th, 2007 by Moleznev

Finally, after praising the system for such a long time for its flexibility, I'm gonna talk about a serious flaw in it. Group work. This happens in all systems but especially so as there are quite a number of group projects every semester. In a year it could total over 6 (2 for each semester).

So what is it bad about group projects? Some projects takes up lots of time, but the lecturers give little credit for it. And when it comes to group projects, there are bound to be conflicts when members refuse to do work. I'm not talking about our group now, cos although Ben and Ryan take damn long before they start on work, but when you force them, they come out with really good smoke screens to cover up their lack of participation.

At times, group projects in school could be worse than at work. Seriously, when you are at work, the team leader or the manager if a good one, would probably sack those who are not working. And if your group really sucks, you don't like it. Other than transferring of departments, there are possible routes such as changing jobs. Although its easier said than done, it's still possible. However, in school, you can't just sack your group members, can't just change your group. And most of the time, these people are your friends. So it's not easy to scold them - not inclusive of Ben and Ryan, cos they always get grumblings from KJ and I.

I just heard from a friend of how sucky their group is. I really pity the people doing the work. Because they were already limited in their knowledge in the subject, they needed the group effort to complete the project. But in the end, when members are not contributing, and you can't do the work by yourself, you suffer because of your group. So unless it is possible that they are able to vary marks based on effort, which is quite impossible, you need a very cohesive and enthusiastic team to work. Its a sad sight of a great system.

STUPID BIKES

Posted in The Prophet on April 25th, 2007 by Moleznev

I hate Malaysian Bikers! And I swear I'll curse them every time I see them on the roads. Not only do I hate them, I hate people with the name Silva as well. Assholes. Every time I meet a Silva, nothing comes out good of the exam. Last time it was Dasilva. This time, some Silvaraju.

That Malaysian Bike was totally immoral and unethical. He knew I was going to change lane. And he still came up while I was doing so. Purposely wanted me to fail my test. Does he not know that getting a driving license here is not as easy as in Malaysia or any other country? And can't he have some consideration for people? Will he like it if the same thing happened to them? I had only 2 demerit points or so before he wreaked havoc, and those were from something I wasn't taught, so had no idea it would result in demerit points.

And that Silva guy was crap. After that incident he just keep taking off points for nothing. Did not tell me to turn right, of course I keep left la! Then he took off 8 points for that. And then, took off more points for not looking out for pedestrians when there isn't a single in sight and as if I wasn't looking out. There's something seriously wrong with the Singapore education system. People are taught to make others fail. What kind of spirit is that? If anything that people do is against what they think is right, they don't accept any explanations and just fail that person. It is obvious that most Singaporeans are like that by just looking at what is happening UB-SIM. The lowest scores on my report are given by Singapore lecturers and the highest by US lecturers.

Brainless gits.  And don't tell me they are fair. I have a friend who can't control her car but got only 6 demerit points. Because? She's a girl. What rubbish. And academic wise, people get into their courses because they are better at studying. Or should I say memorizing and reading? In the US, anyone can enter the Universities. But over here, only the top few percent gets it. The others? If you are too poor to study overseas, then good luck to you.

MCP

Posted in The Prophet on April 22nd, 2007 by Moleznev

Recently Renhao alluded to me that I sound like I'm a MCP, and I thought he was saying I'm some communist, but what he actually meant was Male Chauvinist Pig. I still don't understand why they call these people pigs. Anyway, I may sound chauvinistic at times, but it's not because I'm chauvinistic, it's that I can't stand how girls take unfair advantage of situations and make us look like idiots.

Firstly, I don't think that all women can't do shit. For example, there's Sabine Schmitz who can fly a car. There's Ivanka Trump, who knows her figures. There's Yuki Nagato who knows anything on this planet. There's Charlotte Tabatha and Hermione Granger who knows their magic. Just kidding. See the number of women I admire for their talent?

But there are just some women out there who wants to take advantage of everything. Ram was asking isn't it unfair that women have all sorts of laws to protect them even when they could be in the wrong? Of course its unfair. But the point is, it is because they are weak that they need unfair protection. So stop crapping about equality please. If you want equality, then scrap the laws! I was just reading on the papers yesterday about the Statutory Rape law. For the non-Singaporeans, this means that a guy could be charged if he has sex with a girl under 16 years of age, even with her consent. Why? Because the girls are too young and blur to have consented within a state of proper mind.

And today, theres this report on Yahoo! about a lesbian going to compete for Prom King. Hey! What rubbish. They want everything! See? They want equality, want protection, and want to take away every single right from the men! Even the right for a men to be King (defined by dictionary as a male sovereign)! Aren't they contradicting themselves? Dumb.
