Sacked for being over-qualified
Posted in The Prophet on April 16th, 2007 by MoleznevOn the morning radio show, several DJs were in the discussion about how some 200 graduates were sacked from their jobs as rubbish collectors of the State of Osaka in Japan. The statement government meted out the dismissal as the graduates hid their qualifications beyond high school. What is the problem with the government these days? I mean, they should be glad that these people are willing to work as rubbish collectors when they are more than qualified for it. I am surprised that 200 of them did the lower status job instead of demonstrating.
The fault in this scenario does not lie with the graduates. It lies with the government, for its failure to provide enough jobs for the people. It has failed on its part when 200 of them, or may be more graduates are not able to find jobs in the sectors and positions they should be in, with their qualifications. If the similar case happens in Singapore, I think that the whole cabinet oughts to be sacked. It is their fault for opening the market to an influx of foreigners thus leaving locals who have a higher cost and standard of living exposed to cheaper competition.
Please, wake up your ideas you fools up there!
