Sacked for being over-qualified

Posted in The Prophet on April 16th, 2007 by Moleznev

On the morning radio show, several DJs were in the discussion about how some 200 graduates were sacked from their jobs as rubbish collectors of the State of Osaka in Japan. The statement government meted out the dismissal as the graduates hid their qualifications beyond high school. What is the problem with the government these days? I mean, they should be glad that these people are willing to work as rubbish collectors when they are more than qualified for it. I am surprised that 200 of them did the lower status job instead of demonstrating.

The fault in this scenario does not lie with the graduates. It lies with the government, for its failure to provide enough jobs for the people. It has failed on its part when 200 of them, or may be more graduates are not able to find jobs in the sectors and positions they should be in, with their qualifications. If the similar case happens in Singapore, I think that the whole cabinet oughts to be sacked. It is their fault for opening the market to an influx of foreigners thus leaving locals who have a higher cost and standard of living exposed to cheaper competition.

Please, wake up your ideas you fools up there!

Jeremy Clarkson and the Perodua Kelisa

Posted in The Prophet on April 13th, 2007 by Moleznev

If anyone of you had not heard about it, Malaysia's Prime Minister has slammed Clarkson for his outrageous acts in destroying a Perodua Kelisa. Although I'm a hard core Top Gear fan, I don't really supported what he did. There are other ways to criticize the car - I would not say it was insulting like many Malaysians think it is - however, tearing and blowing up a car, and much more a brand new one is not something anyone should be proud of.

I've saw some Malaysians complain that it unfair and insulting to Malaysians, and seen many said that the car isn't that bad, neither are Malaysian cars. I can't comment for sure whether the car good or bad. But it is definitely right to say that Malaysian cars are no good. For a period of time, when my Dad's car got in an accident and was sent to the workshop, we had a Proton. The only time when my parents ever drove one. It was so horrible that after a week in it, they quickly requested another car.

The Malaysians went on to say that which car would not break with 1 ton hanging on its bonnet or would not blow up with 4 sticks of dynamite? I think they got the message wrong. Clarkson was not trying to prove that the car could not withstand those tortures. He just wants to destroy the car by torturing it. Anyway, they should have seen the stress the Top Gear team put on an OLD Toyota Hilux. It was crashed driven down a flight of steps, crashed into a tree, thrown into the sea, driven through a wooden shed, had a caravan dropped on it, had a weight which they used to demolish buildings knocked into it, burnt with kerosene, placed on top of a building which was demolished under controlled conditions with dynamites, and all it took were 2 mechanics, some spanners, and WD-40 to repair it to working condition. This, is prove that a car could survive far worse conditions. (If any of you wishes to check out the episode, its Season 3 Episode 5 & 6)

Going on to the comment that cheap cars are limited in many ways. I beg to differ on the statement. As Top Gear had proved, cheap cars could be good. The Toyota Aygo was an example of a cheap and good car. They were designed to be built cheaply as Hamster has said. They were not designed to be built in a way that maximized margins using cheap materials.

Clarkson's comments that Malaysian and Korean car makers had only profit in their mind when they built cars also resulted in many angry comments. The people who commented asked which car maker did not have profit as their first priority? There are. When Ford first built Ford GT, all they had in their minds was to defeat the Italians and bring glory home. When Volkswagen decided to build Phaeton, they wanted to fulfill a dream to build a car no one would dream of. When Volkswagen built the Veyron under Bugatti, they just wanted to prove to the world that such a car is possible, it is not just a dream. When Toyota builds cars, customer satisfaction and quality is of assurance not insurance claims.

It is time that Proton, Perodua and all these Pacific cars wake up their ideas.

If anyone of you is interested, the video could be found here, Jeremy Clarkson Destroys Perodua Kelisa. I'm not posting it here so you guys could read the comments. Check out the one by pussygalore21 - theres one which called Malaysians racist - I supposed its because of their laws which favors Malays, it's time they rethink about that too.

Crap Salaries for Crap People

Posted in The Prophet on April 11th, 2007 by Moleznev

People, now you see what action is about? See how Low Thia Kiang talked so much in parliament but just wasted his breath? When the Singapore government wants to do anything, no one can stop them.

See how they rebutted Low? What was the government which brought Singapore from Third World to First about? What were the apples about? It was just to throw people into an illusion. To cause frantic, and be left with the mouth open not able to say anything.

Was that statement by Lee justified? No. Is the present government the one which brought Singapore from Third World to First? No. Having the people from the government which did does not mean it is. Just because Bill Gates made Microsoft the super power, does it mean that when he retires as an adviser, the whole management continues to enjoy the privilege of having huge increases in salary? Does it mean the present NKF board has to be criticized for mistakes committed by the previous board?

Certainly there has to be a cut off from when who deserves what isn't it?

Furthermore, just after they say they need more money and therefore they are increasing GST, they increase their own salaries. What kind of logic is that? I can't really be bothered with these kind of people anyway. How much can they really use from all this money they got?

5 Reasons why you should use Firefox

Posted in The Prophet on April 7th, 2007 by Moleznev
  1. It has a large collections of plugins which are all open sourced, which means they are FREE! Not only do they come free-of-charge, they come free of any spyware, adwares and all rubbish.
  2. It is fast. Starts fast and loads webpages faster!
  3. It is compatible with almost anything- haven't heard of anything that Internet Explorer is compatible with but not Firefox. However, IE is not compatible with a lot of document formats
  4. It would always be supported as long as computer enthusiasts are around! Look at IE, if you are using older versions of Windows, Microsoft no longer provides you the latest IE
  5. Lastly, it works fantastically well with this site. If you are having problems with the layout of this site, chances are, you are using older versions of IE (before IE 7)

What are you waiting for?

a day’s work as a maid

Posted in The Prophet on April 5th, 2007 by Moleznev

On the way to work yesterday, I heard some discussion about an employer giving the maid only 200 calories or so a day. The invited guests on the radio were certainly right about people making a big fuss when they hear some bad advocation of employers to maids. Hardly has anyone talked about horrible maids on major news.

Why has no one spared any thoughts for the employers? Put yourselves in the shoes of the employer. Getting home after a tired day at work, a day of getting scolded by your bosses, by your clients, haggling with customers, don't you want to rest? And what do you get? Maids who turned the house upside down, cook horrible food, spoil your clothes, so on and so for.

I find it weird that there are so many rules imposing on what a maid can or cannot do to "protect" them. What's the problem with them using a cloth to wipe the grease off the floor instead of a mop? What's with them cleaning windows? I'm not saying they should risk their lives for it, they could have cleaned on the inside. And there are so much stuff the government do not allow us to make them do that in the end, we have to do it ourselves. So our lives are not as precious? We pay the maids to come here and enjoy life? To eat our food? And to spoil our stuff? What's the meaning of this?

If you have not had a maid before, please do not comment. You do not know what the worst maids can be like. They spoil your shirts, washing machine, iron, refrigerator, anything they could lay their hands on. They can't clean, can't cook, can't do nuts. When I had the time, I cleaned the house better than the maid, my sis doesn't even bother to ask the maid to cook, but dragged me from my com to cook for her. And yet, I'm very sure, if there are Singaporeans out there who sees this entry, they will surely be firing at me.

Those people must have not tasted life with these maids. And they must be bragging about how they could be able to handle it. Handle my foot. No sense of loyalty braggards. Singaporeans are forever helping foreigners. Are there laws out there to help our younger generation get into the workforce? Nope. Are there funds out there to feed them when they can't find a job after graduation? Hardly any? But why are we sending major aids to Indonesia when they ban exports of sand to us which seriously sabotaged our building industry? Noob heads.
