Rubbish Buy

Just when I thought I found a place I could get all my digital fantasies here, my image of Best Buy was dashed. If you are thinking of getting anything from Best Buy, you are better off shopping at WalMart or online at amazon.com or Tiger Direct.

I just got a hopelessly old model of GPS from Best Buy as the salesman claimed that this model is new. In actual fact, this model has been in the market for 3-4 years! Also, I paid over USD100 more for this set than another newer model which is available at amazon. The set I bought was so outdated that it gave totally wrong directions the same week I used it. I think I know the area better than it.

The salesman also crapped about the product when he knew nuts about it as I found out later. The particular model didn't come with the map of Canada which I needed. When I asked him how much would it roughly cost to get the map off Garmin, he replied about USD20. So, comparing it with other models which comes with the map of the entire North America, I chose the set thinking an upgrade of the map doesn't cost that much and it is still worthwhile. Imagine it when I got home and found out that the map costs over USD100 and map updates costs almost there as well.

Got cheated in and out. And because I scratched the edges of the set, it couldn't be returned even with the restocking fee. Besides the GPS, I also bought a humidifier on sale, only to find out that it costs less in WalMart even without being on sale.

LOST!

Definitely, one of the moments any blogger would hate will be the time when his posts are lost. Sadly, I had to experience it. I think I corrupted my database and had to restore this site from a backup which I luckily did just a few posts before the disaster. I believe only 1 post and 1 YouTube video on Internet People was lost. So hopefully this doesn't happen again.
