I couldn't believe what I heard when I was told about this. I mean, why isn't there room for negotiation? Believe it or not, at that moment, I felt worse than if I was rejected. This was something I would have never expected, something no one would expect, my mother has always said how alike this little pair were. Because I wasn't there, I don't really know what happened and wasn't of much help, I felt useless, and the only thing I could do was try to help him plead for a second chance, and call him to talk to him. At least, the others could be around him. Although the other pair had a bad ending, but I wasn't so surprised, I was rather disappointed but not like this. They were some of my best friends. Both of them were there for me when I was sad, when I felt so useless, when I was totally dejected. They taught me how to sing, and did not gave up although I sucked at it. Tried to teach me some musical instruments even though I sucked at it badly. They even accompanied me at my shop when I was lonely, I know they had better places to go then to be at IMM. I'm in a lost now that I can't relate the both of them together, I could just hope from halfway round the world that all goes well.

What is the problem with Hyundai?

Posted in The Prophet on November 28th, 2007 by Moleznev

What the fuck is Hyundai doing? Have they been paying peanuts to their designers or what? They have been trying to copy things that they are so not. Firstly they have the Sonata, which looks extremely similar to the previous Honda Accord. Then the Genesis would eventually look like the BMW 5-series. The Santa Fe is the exact replica of the Infiniti GX35. The previous Sonata looks like the Jaguar X-Type. Hyundai subsidiary KIA has also done the same. The KIA Amanti, looks just like a Jaguar S-Type. What have the Korean designers been doing man.

P.S. Koreans are not the worst, but they ought to do something. I think the WTO should do something about Chinese manufacturers who copy too hard.

For those who are interested

Ok guys, if you don't already know, or don't bother to know, I have settled on a cease-fire agreement with Bernard. This is in my mind the only way to end all unnecessary troubles and pointless arguments which are a waste of everyone's time and energy.

Bernard wants to let all of you know his side of the story and attached is the truce agreement which he wrote. If you want to read this as equally detailed as a peace settlement agreement between any country document, you may download it below:

Changes to Singapore Roads

Posted in The Prophet on November 22nd, 2007 by Moleznev

Having driven in US for a period of time, I have seen several areas where Singapore can improve on. Of course, there are many areas in Buffalo that are not as good compared to Singapore, but that doesn't matter here.

Flashing Amber Lights

Drivers who took their Theory Tests seriously should know what flashing amber lights mean: Proceed with caution (Probably because the traffic lights are not functioning properly). In US however, flashing amber lights are used after a certain time (About 10:30PM) to prevent vehicles on the main road from stopping unnecessarily. In Buffalo, people usually stay home before 10:30PM, therefore it is the time when this traffic lights stop operating. Singapore can probably set a later time. I find that this traffic lights not only cuts driving time, it improves many other factors as well. Because drivers do not have to stop as often, they would not waste as much gas, and pollute the air as much, especially for "Auto" cars, as the vehicles can remain at a low RPM throughout when there is no need for acceleration. Drivers would also be less stressed when they do not have to stop so often. Most importantly, because drivers do not waste time stopping at traffic lights, they have a lesser tendency to speed.

Left turn on red

Of course in the US, its a right turn on red. Turn on red signs are not needed in the US because every traffic junction uses the right turn on red rule unless it says "Stop here on RED". This motion reduces the need for filter lanes which I think doesn't work as well.

Free parking

Damn the paid parking. Parking is free everywhere in the town areas of this city except in downtown. Of course parking is expensive there but based on standards of living, it is in fact cheaper than Singapore (US$5 per entry for the day)

What are Supercars for

Posted in The Prophet on November 20th, 2007 by Moleznev

I often hear that there is no reason to get a "sports" car in Singapore. I would think they refer to any fast car in general. My mother always say that she would rather want a house than the over a million car. Quite true, but when you get your house, there's the time to get that car. Oh yes that car is freaking over priced in Singapore, and the roads aren't really suitable for it. And you think American roads are suitable? The speed limits are about the same, but in America, highways are made of cheap tarmac. The only place where you can max out the use of the car when you buy it in Singapore is to be in Sepang.

But that's not the point I'm trying to make. The point is, supercars are not just meant to go fast, they are fitted with a character, filled with a certain aura. The Lamborghinis can't even corner properly. What it can do properly, just like the Ferraris and any other supercar do is to let you arrive in style. Just listening to the sound of those engines, the grunt from those exhausts, is enough to make heads turn. Even though I have not driven one before, I certainly know how it feels like when you are driving one. It is the hugely ballooned feeling of a boy who got his first set of wheels after passing his driving test. It is that amazing feeling that makes people want to drive a supercar. It is the passion for something that you want to do, that mad thing you have in mind, just like the Viaduc de Millau, supercars are born to be mad.
