Here we go again…

There are some things in life that just aren’t meant to be. You can’t force someone into a person he/she isn’t. You can’t be someone you aren’t. Sometimes, people just like to act what they aren’t. So what if I’m not happening, so what if I’m not whatever you think people should be like. You know what, you bunch of fakers should shut the hell up and stop being that idiot you aren’t. What’s with the need to find some stupid thing to do? What if I don’t want it? My life is dictated by myself, while yours… is dictated by what others think of you.

To the girls who think they rule: Stop dreaming. I’ll tell you what, you little imps. You are just trying too hard to show the world what you really aren’t. You really are. It is because we live in this society of girl chauvinists that the pressure is building in these idiots forcing them to perform their little “dance” in public. They want to rule, but do not have the passion to rule. Just like when the little boys and girls entertain people’s thoughts that they are having fun, while they are actually not. Why would people want to be out there getting groped, when they could just be having fun chatting with friends? Why would want people be looking for something to do, when they are so tired they could have enjoyed their bed at home? They are just so in need of company, company which would let others – hopefully, change the perception of who they really are.

What I could say is, you would never be able to enjoy something else in your life if you continue that way – yourself.

Singaporeans MUST change

One of the few things I like about Buffalo, among the many dislikes I have for America, is the courtesy built into people. What's with the National Courtesy Campaign (now known as the Singapore Kindness Movement) but service people giving that "hey you killed my ******!" look. And how courteous it is for one of the world's richest government to continuously increase taxes? Maybe it's one of the reasons why people are like that.

In just about a month, I would be returning to a place I have always called home. But, I don't really feel the welcoming atmosphere there. I dread going out of my house because these people have a murderous look on their faces. Try going out to the supermarket and say "Hi!" when you see a staff member. Try that on the bus, in the cab, at the box office, on the streets, anywhere at all, to people whom you have not met before, I think they would think you're crazy or out to flirt with them. This is so not the case! Why can't people say "Hi!" to each other?

"Why can't" definitely doesn't apple here in Buffalo. Even the world's worst employer has one of the finest employees. They may be unhappy with their jobs, but they definitely do not show it to the customers. They greet every customer just like he's a regular patron, like a person they know. "How ya doin'?" is what you would expect to hear if you walk past a member of the staff who is just slogging away at 2AM in the morning trying to get the goods in place. Need help? They would gladly help you with it.

Once, I was out in the middle of the night at WalMart with a friend. We happened to chance upon this miniature engine model, and one of these guys unpacking some stuff started talking to us and offered some ideas. And the waiters and waitresses are just so friendly, I don't mind the tipping. Besides, tipping isn't such a big issue anyway. Everyone views tipping as a necessity here, when eating out at a restaurant, cafe, or getting a delivery, but they do not force it upon customers, and customers are willing to tip, unlike in Singapore, where you pay service charge, and then to be nice, you tip as well.

So, welcome to the world where our cultures clash and I love it.

Why STOMP sucks

Recently I picked up the habit of reading more stuff online, things like Autoblog, World Car Fans, and STOMP. I realize that there are quite a lot of idiots on such sites. Especially on STOMP.

Just a few days ago while another friend of mine was showing me some pictures of a "ghost" on STOMP, I went on to read other sections of STOMP out of curiosity. I realized that people like to pick on the rich to comment. There were pictures of Porsche Cayman, Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7-series and lots of other luxury cars posted on the site. I know they were parking at the handicap lots. But I doubt these idiots would care that much if it were an extremely "lao-pok" Civic, or even a Toyota Vios. One of these noobs even said that the Porsche was parking in an "Ambulance" lot, and some idiot commented that when did Ambulance ever came in the form of Porsches. Instead of commenting about such shit stuff, they should be asking the government to increase public awareness of the requirements to be eligible for such lots. I bet there are many out there who are eligible for such lots, but they do not know. Unlike Singapore, people really utilize these lots. Since the government has went on a nationwide spree of increasing the number of these lots (at least 2 outside every lift lobby!), they should increase public awareness of them as well.
